uws//jews is an intentional, open, and warm community of young Jews striving to live enriched and engaged Orthodox Jewish lives by coming together for holiday programming, communal learning, social events, and chessed opportunities. The community’s mission is to bring together the many talented and passionate young Modern Orthodox Jews living on the Upper West Side to create meaningful communal experiences. Empowering others is our defining value.

Values

Our community is predicated upon four core pillars:

  • Learn: Engaging in serious and committed torah study while grappling with relevant communal issues

​

  • Pray: Creating spaces for meaningful and spiritually uplifting tefilla (prayer)

​

  • Connect: Forging tight-knit communal ties and meaningful interpersonal relationships

​

  • Give Back: Giving back to the broader kehilla (community) by engaging in impactful ongoing chessed (service) activities
