Open Meal Project

Hosts with open seats, guests with open minds. Every shabbat. Our goal is to have hosts for every shabbat meal of the year that are open to having a few extra guests, filling in when your week is busy, plans fall through, or when shabbat simply slipped your mind.

Update: Due to COVID-19 precautions, we have shifted to Open Meal Project Outdoors, where we connect young professionals on the UWS to meet up for an outdoor, socially distant, bring your own food shabbat lunch picnic.

Book Club

Our monthly book club meets to discuss books from a wide range of genres in a stimulating and social setting. Past books include ‘Less’ by Andrew Sean Greer, ‘Maybe You Should Talk To Someone’ by Lori Gottlieb and ‘Just Mercy’ by Bryan Stevenson. If you’d like to join the next meeting or recommend a book please reach out to bookclub@uwsjews.org.

Social Events

From lag ba'omer rooftop BBQ to outdoor movie night, our social events are crafted and tailored by our community members to cater to the uws//jews community.

Update: Due to COVID-19 precautions, we have shifted to virtual programming and small outdoor meetups.
